For full control, Capitex Business Loan can be installed and hosted on your own server in your organization's infrastructure. It this setup it is always recommended to host Capitex Business Loan on a dedicated server or virtual machine. The minimal required specification for a virtual machine with capacity for 500 users (not simultaneously) is:

  • 2 CPU cores

  • 2 GB memory

  • 10 GB data disk

The application is Java based and can be installed in an environment with either Windows Server (version 2012 or newer) or a Linux/Unix based server operating system (Kernel 4.X or newer); always at the latest patch level.

Capitex Business Loan is built and tested with Java 8. We currently use the AdoptOpenJDK distribution since they provide prebuilt binaries for Windows based on OpenJDK. AdoptOpenJDK OpenJDK 8 is a long term release supported with security patches up until at least May 2026. For your own server installation you can use any Java 8 distribution from AdoptOpenJDK, Oracle, IBM, Amazon, etc. in either 32- or 64-bit versions and it will work with Capitex Business Loan. Newer Java versions are supposedly backwards compatible with Java 8 and can thus probably run Capitex Business Loan without problems but this has not been fully tested at this time so our recommendation is to use any distribution of Java 8 and always keep your Java installation updated with the latest patch level.

As for a Java application server, any variant like Apache Tomcat, Eclipse Jetty, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, etc. can be used as long as it is supporting Java 8. Vitec is doing extensive testing on Tomcat and Jetty only but others should work just as well.

Capitex Business Loan is fully SQL compatible and any SQL based database like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, IBM Db2, Oracle database, etc. can be used for the underlying database. Vitec is doing extensive testing on Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL and also provides database drivers for these. Other SQL based databases should work just as well but Vitec will not provide database drivers for those.

For identity and access, Capitex Business Loan supports single sign-on through SAML-based authentication systems like Azure AD or HTTP Authentication. We have a plugin architecture with the possibility to integrate customer specific authentication methods as well.

Capitex Business Loan is normally updated once per year for new rules and regulations and in addition it is regularly updated with new features and security updates. Each new version is made available to all customers in the downloads section at release time and you can then update when suitable. It is of course recommended to continuously update to our newer versions to stay on top feature- and security wise and we will not support versions older than last years revisions. New features, fixes and any customer customizations are always only implemented in the latest version.

Capitex Business Loan can be extensively customized through configuration files and Vitec handles any necessary or ordered customizations.
